HOW WE STARTED

JLP was founded by Candace Scharsu, an independent New York-based photographer who has dedicated her life to bettering the conditions of children in the most underserved areas of Africa. Our founder’s experience at working with in-country service providers and personally monitoring aid results for funding partners means that support of JLP provides direct and effective aid to those most in need.
